1.      Go to a place where you can find peace, a place where there is no distraction. Probably your own room. If your room is a mess, clean it before you review. Make it conducive for learning. In that way you can easily understand what are you reviewing.

2.      Get the keywords and the juice. You don’t just have to read it and memorize. The easiest way is to understand or to remember the meaning of the difficult terms is to get the key words or the juice and analyze it.

3.      Make acronyms. If you are weak in enumeration, this is the easiest way in memorizing plenty of terms, make an acronyms from the initials of the terms.

4.      Set a group review. This can help not only in yourself but to your friends as well. You can exchange ideas and you can ask a question in the things that you can’t understand in the lesson. It can also boost the camaraderie in your group. But make sure if you are in a group review there should be no destructions and anything that can easily caught attention like murmuring, gossiping and the likes.

5.      Release the tension. Release all the stresses and problems in your life. Just focus in what you are reviewing.  Stresses, tensions and problems can drag you down.

6.      Compile your handouts or reviewer. There are a lot of lessons that we learned and each lessons had a handouts. Compile this according to the subjects and put it in an envelope or in filler.  In that way reviewing will be easier for you.

7.      Have some Exercises. This really works especially in Algebra, Statistics, Physics and the subjects that don’t require memorization. Those subjects require a lot of exercises. Ask someone to give you a problem or equation then solve it.

8.      Listen to Songs.  This is the best way to motivate us. Choose a song that can’t destruct you. Probably classical songs or oldies songs. But if rock suits you, it’s okay as long as it can motivate you to study your lessons.

9.      Eat Chocolates. Although it is not scientifically proven but why not? According to research this can relax your neurons. It also good to have a snack while you are reviewing.

10.  Lastly, Avoid last minute review. Although in some person it works but in some cases it doesn’t help. You should review ahead of time.

These are some tips from the achievers and Deans Listers in our Colegio. I can’t assure you that all of these can help you to achieve high score in exams. It all depends on you if you want to follow all of these tips, but if you have your own strategy, its okay, but make sure that your strategy is not cheating or making “kodigos”.
