UNDER PEER PRESSURE

Let’s admit it, all of us, have been under to peer pressure. Remember cutting classes, cheating during examination, or even copying each other’s assignment, or trying a stick of cigarette and drinking alcohol every time, until you become addicted to it because everyone in the group do that and you don’t want to be outcast.
Peer pressure influences an individual’s doing something he or she does not usually do. This can be a positive or negative speech or act. But more often, the negative over powers the positive.
Having peer is not that bad. In fact it is normal, especially for teenagers. What is important is for one to be able to distinguish good peers from bad ones.

When you already observed that your peer is no longer teaching you good values, you must learn how to say no to them but don’t avoid them. There is no harm in doing this. It doesn’t make you a lesser person because it’s your own good.

Science defines teen years as the time when child begins to experience the feeling of belongingness and acceptability from others. And they think that to be accepted they have to do what their peers are doing. They have to adopt or adjust to the values and behavior that their friends have.
In short, lack of self-esteem, self –confidence and family communication and support may lead teens to submit to peer pressures. Parents must establish strong bonding with their children.

I’m so happy that my friends understand me if I say no to them when they invited me to do such things. And I’m really happy that they accept me for what I am.

CHOCOLATE MATH

( ive seen this in a forum and it's pretty cool)
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760 .
If you haven't, add 1759..

6... Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2011) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

MY LITTLE PRAYER

Dear, God… …as you can see, I’m back at school again. Nothing has really changed. It’s the same old school again. Another year in school means another year of hard work, another year of examinations, projects homework and learning new facts and knowledge.
God please give the strength and the will so that I can fulfill all the requirements for this year. Make a way to remind always my tasks in school so that I can finish and submit them on time. Help me so that I can understand every lesson that we will tackle and also give our teachers enough strength so that they can share with us their knowledge. Give them patience.
Guide me so that I can change. Last year I had been a total mess. My grades had decreased. Almost every time, I did my assignments just a night before the time it was checked. I crammed over my projects and in almost everything.
I know it’ s wrong, that’s the reason why I’m asking for your help and guidance, so that I can finish my studies with pride, so that I can proudly tell to everyone that I’ve worked hard for it.
Please help me God….

To do or not to do?

One thing I hate about New Year celebration, aside from annoying firecrackers, is doing a “to do list” or “new year resolution list”. Why? Because every time that I will do my own I can’t help but be sad. Sad because everything that stated there is very impossible for me to achieve.  Very impossible because I’m not putting myself into it, really, you know I’m a lazy one. It is very hard to look at your list without any check on it, I mean, without any single achievement.
I remember these past two years, 2009 and 2010, I created a “to do list” and ended up nothing have been checked. All of the things that I wrote ended up as fantasy. Usually this is always been the case. Sad? Yeah. Real sad…So, this year I decided not to create another one because I know this will became another trash. Instead I will set my mind to the things that 2011 has to offer even though if it is a good and bad and at the end of the year I will create my very own “my- done- things- list”.
Have a Prosperous and Happy 2011 to us!
